PM Modi Extends Birthday Wishes to Veteran Leader LK Advani
Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended warm birthday wishes to former Deputy Prime Minister and veteran BJP leader Lal Krishna Advani, expressing admiration and praying for his long and healthy life. Modi hailed Advani as “among India’s most admired statesmen,” recognizing his lifelong dedication to India’s progress.
“Best wishes to LK Advani Ji on his birthday. This year is particularly special as he was awarded the Bharat Ratna for his exemplary service to our nation. He has devoted himself to furthering India’s development and is respected for his intellect and insights. I am fortunate to have received his guidance for many years,” PM Modi shared on social media.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah also extended birthday greetings, highlighting Advani’s contributions in shaping the BJP into a public welfare-focused organization through his unique leadership and dedication to service. Shah noted Advani’s inspiring work as both Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister.
“Heartiest birthday wishes to Bharat Ratna respected Lal Krishna Advani ji. Advani ji played a significant role in making BJP a symbol of public welfare. His work as Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister of the country is deeply inspiring. I pray for his good health and long life,” Amit Shah wrote.
LK Advani served as Deputy Prime Minister in Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s NDA government from 2002 to 2004. In March, he was honored with the Bharat Ratna by President Droupadi Murmu.
Advani, born on November 8, 1927, in Karachi (now in Pakistan), joined the RSS as a Swayamsevak in 1942. A founding member of the BJP, he served as National President from 1986 to 1990, 1993 to 1998, and again from 2004 to 2005, holding the longest tenure as party president.
Culminating a parliamentary career spanning nearly three decades, LK Advani was initially the Home Minister before serving as Deputy Prime Minister in Vajpayee’s cabinet from 1999 to 2004.
