Lucknow slum kids recreate Sabyasachi’s ‘iconic’ bridal outfits
A heartwarming video has recently gone viral, showcasing a group of underprivileged children from a Lucknow slum in Uttar Pradesh who recreated a bridal campaign inspired by the iconic designs of fashion designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee. The video, shared by the Lucknow-based NGO Innovation For Change, highlights the children’s creativity as they crafted bridal ensembles inspired by Sabyasachi’s signature aesthetic. Their efforts not only amazed viewers online but also left Sabyasachi himself in awe.
Sabyasachi, celebrated for his exquisite bridal collections, had recently posted a video on Instagram featuring his ‘Heritage Bridal’ line, emphasizing the timelessness of the color red. Inspired by this, the children used donated clothes to recreate his bridal looks. Innovation For Change revealed that the entire video was filmed by 15-year-olds keen to develop their camera skills, while each red dress featured was designed and modeled by girls aged 12 to 17.
