Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto Offers to Personally Congratulate Donald Trump on Election Victory

Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto extended his congratulations to Donald Trump on his election victory during a phone call after arriving in Washington for an official visit, which includes a meeting with President Joe Biden.

Prabowo, who has expressed a commitment to a non-aligned foreign policy, shared a video of the call with Trump after his recent trip to China, where he met with President Xi Jinping. This visit marked Prabowo’s first overseas journey since taking office last month.

“If possible, I would like to call personally on you. Wherever you are, I would like to fly to congratulate you personally, sir,” Prabowo stated in the video he posted online. Trump responded, “We’ll do that, anytime you want,” adding that his victory was “amazing” and provided a “big mandate.” Trump further noted that the success was one of the most significant in over a century.
